Jim Beam provides only a flavor element -- much like cooking with wine or beer

Name: Jim Beam
Distributed By: Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc.
510 Lake Cook Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015-4964
Flavor: Jalapeńo
Size: 2.5 OZ bag
Price: $.89
Grade: 8/10

Jalapeńo flavored sunflower seeds soaked in genuine Jim Beam Whiskey.

I had seen these earlier in regular salted style but was holding off for a flavored bag. Lucky for me the local 7-11 convenience store had a small bag. I have feared I would come across the weird flavored seeds only in large bags forcing me to throw away large quantities. In this case though I was lucky.

I was quite surprised to find these seeds were very good. I expected them to be overly whiskey flavored with a jarringly hot jalapeńo burn. Why wouldn't they, surely whiskey and pepper is a manly sort of flavor so why would they be for anybody but the macho.

I reluctantly popped the first fist full into my mouth and winced only to find them neither whiskey tasting nor burning hot. In fact the overwhelming first impression was that they were overly pickle flavored. After the initial sour sting of pickle was gone a rather pleasant jalapeńo flavor came through. The flavor ran completely through to the seed which were very fresh and crunchy. I found no rotten seeds in the bunch and the bag did not contain a single stick, stem or other foreign, non-seed object.

My only regret is I did not find a bigger bag of these pleasant treats. I will definitely add these to the buy again list and look forward to trying other flavors of the Jim Beam soaked seed family.

That's just 'cause it's so fun spitting seeds!

Name: Reggie's Ballpark Style Sunflower Seeds
Distributed By: Greenbrier International, Inc.
500 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320
Flavor: Bar-B-Que
Size: 12 OZ bag
Price: $1.00
Grade: 7/10

The seed that started it all for me.

I was at a Dollar Tree store looking for whatever and stumbled across these. Being the baseball fan I am I could not resist picking up a bag. The packaging is just so striking and although I am not a Yankee fan, the pinstripes and Reggie Jackson slugging a homer (no doubt) on the bag made it irresistible.

I thought for sure the seeds would be a bit stale, seeing that I got them at such a cheap price, but was pleasantly surprised to find them fresh and crispy. I chucked a handful into my cheek, the way all sunflower seeds are consumed by me, and started to suck.

These seeds are very flavorful, salty being the predictable flavor, and I found the barbecue flavor to be a bit lacking. No apparent sweetness, spicy bite or vinegery tang was found. The seeds averaged medium sized and nary a rotten or soft seed was found. The first bag I ate did have an unusually large deposit of sandy, sticky seasoning that made me spit the seeds prematurely. The second bag was a total pleasure.

I will surely buy these again at this price and look forward to the Ranch and Original flavors.
